Interested in teaching physics or mathematics?

Support for graduates to become chemistry, physics or mathematics teachers is now available via the Department of Education and Training.

For the first time in 2010, the Department of Education and Training will offer Teacher Education Scholarships to high-achieving science, mathematics and engineering graduates who would like to make a difference in the lives of young Queenslanders by becoming state high school teachers.

Scholarship recipients will be supported to undertake a Graduate Diploma in Education - Secondary (or equivalent pre-service teacher education program) in 2010. Scholarship benefits include $10,000 in financial assistance as well as the opportunity for permanent employment with the Department of Education and Training upon completion of studies.

Applications close 4 January 2010. For more information visit www.teach.qld.gov.au.
