The Dark Side of the Universe is a great place to explore. Just before the turn of the century astrophysicists discovered that the expansion of the universe is speeding up. I spend most of my time trying to figure out what's causing the acceleration. We give it the name "dark energy" and it could be a quantum effect like the energy of the vacuum, or perhaps require a beyond-Einstein theory of gravity. Whatever it is, it forces us to go beyond standard physics, and venturing into the unknown is great fun.

  • Research

From stretching space, through supernovae and dark energy, to supermassive black holes -- here's the summary of what I do.

  • Talks and outreach

Here's a collection of talks and anything that's been recorded. Some for the general public, some professional.

  • Prizes, parties, & publicity

    Fun stuff. (Coming soon...)

  • Teaching

Cosmology basics, summaries, in-class projects... in case they're useful to others. (Coming soon...)

  • Ultimate Frisbee

Sport has taught me so much, and this is my favourite. A few Ultimate frisbee links since its sometimes needed to explain to people what it is!! (Coming soon...)

  • Quotes

Because others often say it so much better than I do. (Coming soon...)
