UQ has two intakes per year for its undergraduate degree programs: the major one at the beginning of the year for first semester, and a mid-year intake for admission to a restricted range of programs commencing in second semester.

Applications for admission to undergraduate programs are made through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

Applicants can apply for Commonwealth supported places.

To gain entry to a program, an applicant must satisfy the entry requirements.

There are also special entry schemes for specific groups.

The majority of offers for Semester 1 are made in January, with a smaller number of offers for selected programs offered in December the year before, and in February for any remaining course vacancies. For Semester 2 commencement, offers are made in June/July.
