Dive in for summer vacation scholarships

Excellent opportunities for the 2018-19 summer vacation are waiting for students in two scholarship programs. 

Apply for one or both programs offering industry internships through the SMP (School of Mathematics and Physics) program or life as a researcher through the AMSI (Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute) program with your research proposal.

AMSI Vacation Research Scholarships - Applications close 21st September 2018.

AMSI funds and supports university students from around Australia to spend their summer holidays working on research projects with a supervisor.  It is seeking applicants who are in their 2nd or 3rd year of a mathematical sciences or similar degree at an AMSI Member university (includes UQ), are Australian citizens or permanent residents, want to explore research in the mathematical sciences with the support of a researcher, and would enjoy the challenge of a paid summer research project. 

SMP Summer Industry Experience Program (Internships) - Applications close 2nd October 2018.

Open to Mathematics, Statistics and Physics students for the chance to engage with one of the School’s industry partners and experience industrial work for 6-8 weeks between December and January on a scholarship.  Firstly, students need to register their Expression of Interest to gain access to the available projects now on offer.
