Project level: Honours

There is growing interest in building and deploying small robotic aircraft for a variety of civilian applications.  This project will continue on from an engineering thesis project carried out during 2012 to build a robotic airplane for agricultural applications.  The project will involve implementing integrating spatial information, image recognition and digital feed-back and feed-forward control systems in a real aircraft.  It would appeal to students with strong experimental and programming and skills, and will involve writing apps for smart-phones.
