High temperature superconductivity is one of the great unsolved problems in physics. In order to understand it we must solve the Schrodinger equation for ~1023 electrons that are interacting strongly with one another, which is technically extremely demanding. Organic superconductors are a class of high temperature superconductors that are extremely flexible because of the control that organic chemists can achieve.

In this project you will use advanced quantum mechanical techniques to predict the properties of these materials and make direct comparison with experimental results from some of the world’s leading groups.
