Premiere of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) Movie
DESI, the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument, represents a groundbreaking global endeavour aimed at mapping our nearby universe with unprecedented detail. Installed on the Mayall telescope on Kitt Peak in Southern Arizona, DESI boasts an impressive fleet of 5000 independently operated robots, capable of simultaneously measuring the light emitted by thousands of galaxies.

We are excited to extend an invitation for the premiere of our new movie based on the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) at the Sir Thomas Planetarium.
The upcoming movie serves as a celebration of DESI’s scientific accomplishments to shed light on the science, instrument, and remarkable individuals driving this global initiative. Our team at UQ have been fortunate to play a significant role in the DESI project, and we would be honoured to have you join us at this premiere.
The event is open to the public but we have a couple of dozen free tickets to give away!
