Abstract

I'll begin by defining braid varieties and explain how Richardson varieties and double Bruhat cells give examples of these. Then I’ll explain how Legendrian weaves give a way of decomposing braid varieties that give an easy way to count points. These techniques may be applicable to point-counting on character varieties as well.
