Data science at Atlassian: leveraging behavioural data to build better software
Speaker: Anslie Scott
Affiliation: Atlassian
Abstract:
In software development, teams have to make a lot of decisions about what to build and how to build it. Product data scientists are responsible for ensuring these teams make data-driven decisions; from the nitty gritty details (like where to place a new button to optimise user traffic); to the high-level strategy (like how to drive engagement). In this talk I will discuss a few of the many different ways we leverage behavioural user data at Atlassian to answer these questions, as well as the day to day of work as a data scientist at a software company.
Biography:
Ainslie is a Data Scientist at Atlassian and completed her BEng (Honours) and BSci (Advanced Mathematics) at the University of Sydney. She started her career as a software engineer but has worked as a product data scientist for the last 4 years, where she partners with software development teams to deliver insights in behavioural analytics, churn modelling, and experimentation.
