ARC Centres of Excellence

Our ARC Centres of Excellence enable intensive and collaborative investigation into specialised areas, including quantum physics, mathematics and statistics, quantum computation and communication, and the cosmos.

The School of Mathematics and Physics hosts the home node for this ARC Centres of Excellence:

QUBIC is bridging the gap between quantum mechanics and biotechnology to solve core problems across healthcare, manufacturing, energy and agriculture.

The School of Mathematics and Physics researchers are Chief Investigators in the following ARC Centres of Excellence:

OzGrav uses gravitational waves to understand the extreme physics of the universe, focusing on warped space-time, black holes, neutron stars, and the origins of the cosmos.
CQC²T focuses on delivering world-leading quantum research to develop full-scale quantum systems – encompassing ultra-fast quantum computation, secure quantum communication and distributed quantum information processing.
Plant Success is transforming plant science for the next generation through strong industrial and global partnerships, interdisciplinary collaborations, mentoring and communication.
