Parabolic multiplicative affine Springer fibers
Speaker: Marielle Ong
Affiliation: University of Toronto
Abstract
Multiplicative affine Springer fibers are group-theoretic analogues of Lie-algebra-valued affine Springer fibers. They parametrize certain Higgs bundles that are valued in the Vinberg monoid, which turns out to be a canonical multi-parameter degeneration of the Lie group. Since 2011, there has been an ongoing investigation into these fibers and their applications to orbital integrals, the Hitchin fibration and the Fundamental Lemma. In my talk, I will introduce parabolic multiplicative affine Springer fibers and discuss their properties, as well as their applications to global Springer theory.
About Pure mathematics seminars
We present regular seminars on a range of pure mathematics interests. Students, staff and visitors to UQ are welcome to attend, and to suggest speakers and topics.
Seminars are usually held on Tuesdays from 2 to 3pm.
Talks comprise 45 minutes of speaking time plus five minutes for questions and discussion.
Information for speakers
Researchers in all pure mathematics fields attend our seminars, so please aim your presentation at a general mathematical audience.
