Come join us in celebrating LGBTQIA+ researchers from across science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as they share their research with the wider Brisbane community.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of how you identify.

The first LGBTQIA+ STEM Researcher Showcase was held in 2025 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Alan Turing’s landmark 1950 paper, Computing Machinery and Intelligence. We are continuing the Showcase as an annual celebration of LGBTQIA+ people and their contributions across STEM.

Meet LGBTQIA+ researchers from across STEM, explore their research through posters, ask questions, and enjoy free food and refreshments. Everyone is welcome, regardless of how you identify.

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options will be available. Please reach out to Matthew Holden if other dietary requirements need to be accomodated.

This year’s event is generously supported by UQ’s School of Mathematics and Physics, School of the Environment and Faculty of Science, and QUT’s School of Mathematical Sciences.
