This event will feature short talks about the work of women mathematicians, including Ada Lovelace, Hanna Neumann, Emmy Noether and Karen Uhlenbeck. The talks will be addressed to a general audience, from first-year students to fellow mathematicians. (Talks followed by afternoon tea)

This event follows from a suggestion coming from the ICM Satellite event "World Meeting for Women in Mathematics" — see https://may12.womeninmaths.org/#. RSVP: http://ems.gs/3iGO0iaboBT

Also, just before this event, there will be an AustMS Women in Mathematics networking lunch, organized by Diane Donovan (dmd@maths.uq.edu.au) and Poh Hillock (p.hillock@uq.edu.au), in the Alumni Court UQ St Lucia (Monday 13/5/2019, 12.30-2pm, RSVP: http://ems.gs/3iGO0bzboJu). It will include industry representatives and it is open to all interested members of the mathematics community, including all genders, staff and students, academics and non-academics.
