Welcomes/Farewells

We farewell our Occupational Trainee, Na (Natalie) Wang, she returned to China on May 16th. We wish her great success in completing her PhD thesis.

We welcome Dr Atta Ur Rahman, from Pakistan. Dr Rahman will be here for 6 months to work on his postdoctoral research through the Australian Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowship. 

We welcome new staff member Dr Insha Ullah, from Kohat University of Science and Technology, Pakistan. Dr Ullah is CARM’s new Research Fellow who will be working on robust methods for longitudinal data analysis.

We welcome Professor Bruce Brown, from the University of New South Wales. Professor Brown will be visiting from 24th to 29th June. As part of the SMOR’s series, Professor Brown will present a talk, Fiducial NonparametricStatistics, in room 43-218 on Thursday 25th June.

Staff and students got to meet Dr John Ormerod. John is from the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Sydney. His research interests include variational approximations, generalised linear mixed models, splines, data mining, semiparametric regression and missing data.
