UQ Summer Research Scholarships – SMP projects. Applications open Monday, 22 September 2025 and close Sunday, 12 October 2025.
This work experience opportunity runs for 6 weeks during the Summer Inter-Semester recess (January–February) and you'll receive a grant for participating in the program.
AMSI 2025-2026 Summer Research Scholarships - Applications Open Thursday, 7 August and close Monday, 15 September 2025 - extended to Monday, 22 September for UQ students
AMSI offers undergraduate students across Australia the chance to spend their summer holidays (December-February) engaged in supervised research projects. Open to students planning to pursue honours or masters degress, this program is an excellent opportunity to expand your academic interests and hone your science communication skills.
Academics may supervise one student or co-supervise up to three. Co-supervision with an ECR or PhD student is encouraged. All supervisors are encouraged to attend AMSIConnect 2026.

AMSI Summer School is an annual national training and networking event for honours and postgraduate students in the mathematical sciences and related disciplines, early career researchers and industry professionals looking to upskill.
Celebrating its 24th year, Summer School 2026 will be hosted by Monash University from 12 January – 7 February (virtual participation also available). Connect with peers, researchers and potential future employers while developing your mathematical skills. You can even take a subject for credit!
