Prospective PhD Open Days
Every year, we invite research students who're interested in undertaking a PhD with us to our Prospective PhD Open Days event. Held over two days during September's annual UQ Research Week, the event is open to final-year Honours and MSc students who want to specialise further in their chosen field of mathematics, statistics or physics.
This year’s event will be held on September 19th and 20th. Please fill out the Application Form and attach a copy of your University Transcript(s) of results and CV (in pdf, doc, docx format only) by the closing date of September 9th.
Financial assistance
If you find a project that suits you, we'll help you prepare your application for an Australian Postgraduate Award, which carries an annual tax-free stipend.
The award is available to Australian and New Zealand citizens, and Australian permanent residents, who have a Class I honours degree or equivalent.
Casual tutoring is available to supplement your income, and suitably qualified candidates who demonstrate exceptional potential for research can apply for a top-up scholarship.
