Painlevé transcendents and various generalization such as Chazy equations have applications to different areas such as quantum physics, quantum field theory and general relativity. They also appear in context of various symmetry reductions of partial differential equations. They have also been connected to quadratic differential systems such as the Darboux-Halphen system. However, those links remain largely unexplored and need to be established in more systematic ways. The project will be devoted to systematic characterization of those connections.
