SMP is proud to announce that Professor Tamara Davis has received the award of appointment as a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia (General Division). This prestigious honour was announced and published on The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia's website, www.gg.gov.au, in the Queen's Birthday 2020 Honours List on 8 June 2020. 
The Order of Australia recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement, with Individuals being appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for service in a particular locality or field of activity or to a particular group.
Tamara was recognised "For significant service to astrophysical science, to education, and to young astronomers."
Professor Davis is one of 4 UQ Science staff who received this honour.
