We pursue and promote research in mathematical physics.

Formed in 1999, we aim to:

  • strengthen connections between the disciplines of mathematics and physics, and related disciplines around UQ
  • cooperate and interact with other centres locally and abroad
  • organise a visitors' event program of seminars and joint research projects.

Our research strengths include:

  • Conformal field theory
  • Diagram algebras and planar algebras
  • Holographic (AdS/CFT) dualities between quantum field and gravity theories
  • Integrable and exactly solvable models in quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics
  • Lie algebras, quantum groups, quantum affine algebras, and related algebraic structures
  • Quasi-exactly solvable models
  • Representation Theory
  • Solvable/integrable deformations of quantum field theories
  • String theory and quantum field theories
  • Superintegrable systems
  • Supersymmetry, supergravity, and superspace techniques
